A Family Christmas

Our family’s Christmas celebration was exceptional, complete with delicious food, a new game (and a new challenge!), and, of course, gifts.

Yes, we delighted in our gifts to one another.  We appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into the purchase of each gift.  But Christmas gift-giving went beyond presents wrapped under the tree.

The most meaningful and joyous gift was our simple presence with one another, wrapped in smiles, laughter, kindness, consideration, and sharing the stories of our lives.

These were the best gifts.  These were simple gifts.  These were the gifts that expressed Christmas authenticity: the fullness of love.

I am blessed.  I am grateful.

After all, this is what Christmas is about.

This is what life is about.
